DATA GOVERNANCE & COMPLIANCE

Last updated: June 2026

Baseline Media Inc. ("Baseline") collects, analyzes, and synthesizes information from publicly available sources to provide actionable insights, predictive intelligence, and analytical context to its clients.

We respect the rights of original publishers and the integrity of public information ecosystems.

1. Purpose of Data Collection

Baseline's systems ingest articles, reports, filings, transcripts, and other open-source materials solely for analytical and research purposes.

Our goal is to identify trends, relationships, and early indicators that support informed decision-making - not to reproduce or replace original journalism or editorial content.

2. Transformative Use

All data processed by the Baseline Intelligence Platform is used in a transformative manner:

  • Text and data are converted into structured analytical elements such as Microfacts®, Signals, and Insights;
  • Machine-learning and statistical models generate derived metrics (credibility, correlation, impact) rather than republishing source text;
  • Outputs are summaries, pattern analyses, and synthesized intelligence - not verbatim article reproductions.

3. Copyright and Fair Use / Text-and-Data Mining Compliance

Baseline operates under principles consistent with:

  • U.S. Fair Use Doctrine (17 U.S.C. §107) - permitting limited, transformative use of factual material for analysis, commentary, and research; and
  • EU Directive (EU) 2019/790 Articles 3-4 - providing lawful text-and-data-mining exceptions where rights-holders have not opted out via machine-readable means.

Accordingly:

  • Only minimal text necessary for context or citation is stored or displayed;
  • Full-text reproduction is avoided;
  • Source metadata and attribution are preserved;
  • Automated collection respects site robots.txt and other opt-out signals.

4. Attribution and Source Integrity

Every analytical record produced by Baseline retains a reference to its originating publication, author (where available), and publication date.

When insights are shared externally, Baseline provides clear source links and citation metadata to support transparency and verification.

5. Exclusions and Opt-Out Requests

Publishers or rights-holders who prefer their content not be included in Baseline's automated analysis may opt out at any time by:

  • Setting an appropriate robots.txt or meta-tag directive (e.g., noai, noindex, or notdm); or
  • Contacting us directly at info@baseline-ai.com with identifying information for the affected domain or content.

Baseline will promptly honor legitimate opt-out requests and remove or suppress any associated data from active analytical workflows.

6. Licensed and Partner Content

Where Baseline obtains content via paid feeds, wire services, or data-provider partnerships, such materials are handled under the terms of those licenses.

Baseline fully complies with the usage restrictions and attribution requirements specified in each provider's agreement.

7. AI Voice and Audio Outputs

Baseline may use licensed AI voice technologies to produce audio briefings and podcasts derived from its analytical summaries.

All generated speech is based on Baseline's original analytical text and complies with the licensing and attribution requirements of the respective voice providers.
